 The American River Parkway Foundation began the Pups
in The Park Program in 2003. The program began as a way to ensure the water
quality of the river was not affected with animal feces. What is the Pups in
the Park Program? It is the dog waste stations where one can pick up a “mutt
mitt” bag and dispose of one’s dog waste so that it does not contaminate the
water.
Over the past 5 years the program has grown - we originally started with 6
waste stations and the Parkway now has 12.
